The Silverdome Continued…
The Silverdome was permanently abandoned after the opening of Ford Field in 2002. It first closed its doors in 2006, but after multiple attempts to solicit redevelopment plans, the city finally ran out of options and sold the 127 acre stadium at auction in 2009.
